Quel est, selon vous, le principal atout de ce programme ?
The rich and dense content of this program, the diversity of the lectures (from the very technical aspect of linux based programming environments to the hardly understood principles of hidden markov models and functional data), the project based evaluation system and of course the fact that it is english taught.

Quelle est, selon vous, la principale faiblesse de ce programme ?
The lack of time to fully understand key components of some of the most important lectures in modern data science like deep learning (neural nets) and time series analysis. The program felt too ambitious at some point and towards the end of it, things got a bit fuzzy because of the workload.

Commentaires généraux
Although one may argue that the theoretical concepts are more important than code (which is mainly true), I am a strong believer in "learn by doing" with hands-on approach to show how said theoretical principles actually apply in real life instead of pointing us to a reference or giving away a piece of code for us to decipher. In contrast, the notions and concepts that I have personally learned during this program are indeed priceless. Today I am able to discuss relatively advanced concepts with experts in many fields and even show some of them a few tricks that I have had the pleasure to learn from some of the best and brightest professor. A BIG THANKS TO THE WHOLE STAFF WHO MADE MY DREAM JOB EASY TO REACH.

Contenu académique du programme
The content is very good and well balanced "on paper". However, since the main focus of data science nowadays lies on machine learning and deep learning techniques, I would have loved to have two full units of said material instead of only one 5 ECTS unit. There are still many gray areas 6 months into this program and I think replacing some of the purely theoretical courses with more machine learning courses would have been very beneficial for us students. PS : Professor Pavlo's deep learning course, in my opinion, should have been extended to a minimum of 50 hours instead of 30 with a project-based evaluation (since most of this course involves time consuming optimizations and hyperparameter tuning)

Nothing to add. The resources were great, the library is rich and full of useful resources and the professors put at our disposal all the material we could get our hands on.

Qualité des professeurs permanents
The staff is one of the best I have ever had. All the professors are experts in their fields and listened to our concerns whenever brought to their attention. Some professors seemed a bit less experienced and less sensitive to our concerns but overall, hats off to the great work that has been conducted, especially that there was a pandamic to deal with on the side.

The intervention of professional and experienced scientists has brought a nice change of pace to the otherwise academic view of the program. In fact, many of the remarks and points that they have brought up sticked with me given that I see them applied to real world problems everyday in my company.

Contrôle des connaissances, volume et répartition des cours, travail personnel
Some lectures, like the smart sensing lectures (parts 1 and 2) and functional data analysis could have been wrapped up in half of their dedicated time, given that their main approach was very theoretical. Other courses such as deep learning and machine learning feature selection could have used some more hours to perform a more 'hands-on' approach and to see more evaluation metrics. The homeworks and projects were, at some point, too much to handle since many professors had very high expectations in a very limited amount of time. That being said, the capacity of managing to pull off multiple projects at once has made me very efficient in my problem solving skills and has taught me the significance of dues and deadlines. For that I am eternally grateful.

The fact that such program is international by nature, I have had the pleasure to work with people from different nationalities and backgrounds. Such encounters have given me a fresh perspective on my new career and more self aware (in a good way).

Êtes-vous globalement satisfait de votre formation ?
Although the program is immensely rich and highly educational with a focus on many useful techniques, I would have loved a more hands-on approach with more demonstrations of how a theory actually works. Some lectures have stopped at a very theoretical level with no actual use case studies whatsoever, which is a shame given that said theories / techniques are highly useful in many companies.

Yes, I would choose it over and over again. This program has changed the course of my career in 6 months. I have the chance to brag about some of the best teachers and brilliant minds that I have ever had the chance to be trained by. I have had 6 years of education before coming to this program and I can safely say that I am impressed.
