EXCELLENT CAREER OPPORTUNITY TO WORK IN DEVELOPMENT.

Avis de Anlxkyyl_18467 - Master 2 Development Economics and Sustainable Development - Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne

  • Quel est, selon vous, le principal atout de ce programme ?

The programme has really good connections with the OECD and other well-known institutions, including a number of guest lecturers from these institutions. This is a great help in getting an idea of what working at one of these institutions might be like after completing the Master’s degree.

  • Quelle est, selon vous, la principale faiblesse de ce programme ?

The program itself is very well constructed, but the administrative structure could need more clarity and reliability.

  • Commentaires généraux

It has been two very intense years of my master’s degree, but I have learnt a great deal and been surrounded by helpful, knowledgeable professors who have taught a wide range of perspectives in development.

    Moyens pédagogiques (bibliothèque, WIFI, locaux)

Access to materials online and via digital platforms is working very well. Unfortunately, the library on our campus closes early due to staff shortages and had sometimes to close earlier than planned at short notice.

  • 910

    Qualité des professeurs permanents

The teaching staff repeatedly emphasise that they can be contacted and are there for the students if anything is unclear or if clarification is needed.

    Qualité des intervenants professionnels extérieurs

The lecturers expertise are clearly evident. They teach us a great amount about development from a wide variety of perspectives.

  • 910

Contrôle des connaissances, volume et répartition des cours, travail personnel

It’s well organised that there are no more lectures at the end of the year, allowing you to focus entirely on your Master’s thesis or Internship. This naturally makes the period from the start of the year until the final third very intense.

    Reconnaissance internationale du programme

  • 910

    Accompagnement/aide si départ à l'étranger

In the second year of the Master’s programme, there was no longer any option to study abroad, but in the first year there were plenty of opportunities to complete the Master’s programme (M2) in another country and thus obtain a double degree.

Services aux étudiants (orientation, projet pro., scolarité, etc.)

All lecturers, teaching assistants, staff and PhD students are incredibly helpful and make time to offer personal counseling.

  • 910

Ambiance, cohésion dans la promo (projets, entraide, loisirs, associations)

Our programme was defined by a remarkable international atmosphere, with students from all over the world, and the intensity of the programme really brought us closer together. The programme is very demanding, so there isn’t much free time left for extracurricular activities.

  • 910

Ville étudiante, logement (coût, accès, situation)

Paris is obviously expensive, but our campus has very good transportation access and it's at a good (not touristic) location.

  • 710

    Réseau des anciens, contacts professionnels

Thanks to the guest lecturers, we meet many different lecturers from various institutions, though usually only in a formal teaching setting and not in more relaxed, informal settings outside of lectures.
